Thank You for Sowing Seeds of Hope
Sowing Seeds of Hope, our annual benefit brunch and auction, was a wonderful success!
Held last Sunday at the Westwood Country Club in Rocky River, our 15th annual event saw its largest attendance ever, with over 260 guests supporting adult literacy.
One of the best parts of Sowing Seeds of Hope is the opportunity for supporters to meet the very people being helped by their contributions. This year’s guest student speakers, Yoko and Cristaly, generously shared their stories of determination and hope.
Yoko’s dream to have her children see her walk across the stage as a GED graduate is getting realer every day. It was clear as crystal how important earning a GED is to her, and her emotion when talking about her children as her inspiration left few dry eyes in the audience.
Cristaly, ever motivated, shared that she set three goals for herself this year. With a new job and a driver’s license already checked off, now all she has to do is complete her GED exam. And it’s well within her reach: with three sections already passed, the Math is next to go!
Cristaly and Yoko, and hundreds of other adult learners like them, will be able to attend Seeds of Literacy and live their dreams because of everyone’s support through Sowing Seeds of Hope.
Thank you to all of our friends and community partners who attended, sponsored, or donated auction items. Your support creates a brighter future through literacy, one life at a time.
