2019 CULTIVATOR IMPACT AWARD RECIPIENT: Robert Frost

ROBERT “BOB” FROST

Bob Frost is an unassuming powerhouse. He began tutoring at Seeds of Literacy in 2014, as a way of giving back to the community in his semi-retirement. In his own words, he tutors “anything but Math,” and particularly enjoys working with students on Social Studies. With Bob’s patient encouragement, students gain not only knowledge, but also acquire the pride of accomplishment.

And with quiet diligence, Bob has been an amazing advocate for Seeds, bridging the gap between the need-on-the-street and political change-makers. This past year, he invited local, regional, and state government officials to stop by Seeds classrooms, meet students, and even try a GED question or two! They now have seen, personally, what adult illiteracy looks like, and how tutors and students at Seeds work daily to change that reality.

It is with great gratitude that Seeds recognizes Bob’s generosity as a thoughtful tutor, strategic advocate, and firm believer in our students and their potential to Thrive!

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Your sponsorship raises our students to new heights. Becoming a Thrive! sponsor brings you the opportunity to invest in students who are:

  • Dedicated – students choose to enroll
  • Nontraditional – most are in their late 20s to early 40s
  • Limited in reading, math, and computer skills

The typical Seeds student is a woman of color raising children, who approaches Seeds in her 30s to work towards a High School Equivalency.

Our students are ripe for transformation. You are the perfect partner to help them Thrive!
