Do you want to pass the GED®/TASC/HiSET test, have better reading skills, or be a role model for your kids? Congrats on taking the first step to reach your goals! The first thing you need to do to be a student at Seeds of Literacy is register, which is how you sign up with us. Registration is done in person.

What times are registration?

Things to know:

  • We have registration for new students every week.
  • Each location has different days for registration.
  • Registration takes two days.
  • You must complete both parts of registration to be registered as a student.

Seeds West Registration
Part 1 on Monday at 12pm
AND Part 2 on Tuesday at 12pm

OR

Part 1 on Monday at 4pm
AND Part 2 on Tuesday at 4pm

You can do either 12pm or 4pm for Part 1 on Monday, but you have to come back at that same time on Tuesday for Part 2. You must do the Monday and Tuesday parts in the same week.

Seeds East Registration
Part 1 on Wednesday at 12pm
AND Part 2 on Thursday at 12pm

OR

Part 1 on Wednesday at 4pm
AND Part 2 on Thursday at 4pm

You can do either 12pm or 4pm for Part 1 on Wednesday, but you have to come back at that same time on Thursday for Part 2. You must do the Wednesday and Thursday parts in the same week.

How long is registration?

Part 1 of registration will take about 3.5 hours.

Part 2 of registration might take up to 3.5 hours

What happens at registration?

You will learn about how our program works, what the high school equivalency tests look like, and you will fill out some paperwork.

Both days you will take portions of an assessment test. Don’t worry, this is NOT the kind of test you can study for. All it does is show us what skills a person has when they begin our program. It helps us know what sort of work you need to get started on your first day.

What do I need to bring?

You don’t need to bring anything with you. The main thing is to make sure you know your current address and phone number. You also need to know your social security number.

After registration, when can I start classes?

You may begin classes right away!

At the W. 25th location, you can start coming to classes the same week that you register. At the Kinsman location, you can start classes the week after you register.

Click here for the class schedule.

What if I already have a high school or GED® diploma?

You can still sign up with Seeds of Literacy if you already have a diploma. Maybe you need to work on your math skills for a job, or want to read better to help your grandkids. We can help you! Registration is the same for everyone, no matter why they are signing up with us.
