2017 GED® Graduation & Volunteer Appreciation Dinner [Photos]

Seeds of Literacy proudly celebrated its 2016-2017 GED® graduates and committed volunteers on June 28th at our annual Graduation & Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.

It was an honor to recognize Seeds of Literacy’s 25 GED graduates, as well as those students making amazing progress by passing sections of the GED test (over 60 students just since last graduation!). 2017 is Seeds of Literacy’s 20th anniversary year, and we couldn’t have come this far without dedicated students and volunteers. You have our endless appreciation!

In celebration of Seeds of Literacy’s GED grads, volunteers, and our 20th anniversary, Cleveland’s historic Terminal Tower was lit green and white the night of the event.

“When you see the centerpiece of the Cleveland skyline lit up in green and white tonight, know that that is for you, in recognition of your commitment to adult literacy,” said Volunteer Coordinator Alexandria Marshall in her welcoming remarks. “Whether as a volunteer who shares their time to help others, as a student who is working hard every day to learn more than they knew the day before, or as a GED grad who will carry what they’ve learned into the community, you are a part of making adult literacy a priority in Cleveland, and we recognize and celebrate all of your achievements.”
