Position Description
As a Seeds of Literacy tutor, you will help adult students use reading, writing, and math skills to meet their own educational goals. Our tutors also offer encouragement and support, helping students develop confidence and positive attitudes about learning. Tutors review any work done independently by the student and keep records of each student’s progress. Patience, promptness, the ability to relate well to a variety of people and a sense of humor are as important as good reading and writing skills.
One-to-one tutoring opportunities are available. We ask for a commitment of 1-1/2 to 2 hours per week for at least one year.
