Seeds of Literacy to Centralize Services

November 29, 2008

Seeds of Literacy, a nonprofit organization providing free, one-on-one-tutoring in basic education and GED preparation, will now hold all classes at its Resource Center located at 3104 West 25th Street (corner of West 25th and Clark Avenue) starting Monday, December 1, 2008.  Seeds of Literacy serves over 850 students in Cuyahoga County and has retention and graduation rates that are twice the national average.

Recognizing today’s economic climate, Seeds will maximize resources by centralizing locations. A strong, central learning environment will benefit both students and tutors, promoting unity and sustaining a proven, effective adult literacy program that has served Greater Cleveland for over eleven years.

Students and volunteer tutors will be able to take advantage of an additional afternoon class session from 1 pm to 3 pm, and can continue to expect the same one-on-one tutoring that helps to build relationships of trust.  Seeds will be open from 9 am to 8 pm, Monday through Thursday, with class sessions from 9 am – 11am, 1 pm to 3 pm, and 6 pm to 8 pm.
