Seeds Receives Outstanding Agency of the Year Award

September 8, 2008

Seeds of Literacy, an adult literacy program providing basic education and GED preparation free of charge, received the Annual Outstanding Agency Award for 2008 from RSVP of Greater Cleveland, an organization dedicated to the mission of improving lives and strengthening the community through volunteerism and service.

The Outstanding Agency Award is given to an agency that exhibits exemplary service to the community.  The winner is chosen from a pool of candidates nominated by RSVP volunteers.

“Seeds of Literacy is honored to receive this award,” states Bonnie Entler, Executive Director of Seeds of Literacy.  “For the past ten years, we have worked to break the cycle of functional illiteracy and its relationship to poverty.  Right now, Seeds reaches over 800 students with the invaluable assistance of about 200 volunteer tutors.  We are grateful for this recognition from RSVP of Greater Cleveland.”
