Adult Literacy Tutor Training

Save the Date: Saturday, February 25th, 2012 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Seeds of Literacy has a great need for volunteer tutors!

Our city of Cleveland sports a 69% illiteracy rate. In 2007, Cleveland ranked 2nd in the nation in terms of people in poverty, according to the US Census Bureau. Clearly there is a strong connection between illiteracy and poverty, but you can help to break it!

Seeds of Literacy has a great need for volunteer tutors. Tutors work individually with students to improve reading, writing and math skills, offer encouragement and support, and help students develop confidence and positive attitudes about learning.

The tutor training session will be held at the Seeds of Literacy Resource Center. This orientation will introduce you to the organization as well as to our students' advancement process, the differences in working with adult students, and the GED.

To register, contact Alexandria Marshall at or 216.661.7950.

Location:

The Resource Center is located at 3104 West 25th Street, 3rd Floor (corner of West 25th Street and Clark Avenue), Cleveland, OH 44109 in the US Bank branch building. Take the elevator in the lobby to the third floor. Parking is available in the lot on the south side of the building, which may be accessed only from Clark Avenue.
